Beckenham Family Photographer
Antonella turned 1 recently and her parents Wen and Juan invited me around to capture some relaxed family photos. When I arrived at their home Antonella was still sleeping, so I had a lovely cup of tea with them and their visitors. Juan’s parents were visiting from Argentina so I got to show off my Spanish speaking skills (which are entirely non existent, but I get points for trying!)
Luckily, Antonella awoke from her nap and saved them all from me! This little cutie pie was full of smiles and even put her arms out to me for a cuddle, so I responded by putting my arms out for a cuddle too. She changed her mind fairly quickly but I marked that one down as acceptance and a great start to the shoot.
The smiles flowed easily when we started shooting in her parents bedroom although it’s not surprising when you see all the attention she was getting from my helpers behind the camera. You can see for yourself in the behind-the-scenes shot 5-6 photos down…
As a Beckenham Family photographer I try to capture each family’s uniqueness, in a relaxed easy going way. I just love the photos we got below and I hope you do too! Inviting Grandparents to join in on a portrait session is a great idea. If you’d like to see more family portrait sessions have a look around my recent posts, check out my favourites images from last year in the video on the front page or you can follow me on my favourite social media platforms Facebook and Instagram
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hyde Park Corner Photography Session
A Spanish family in London, in an apartment that oozed the most beautiful natural light. Across the road from Hyde Park, the perfect location for nipping out and grabbing the last rays of sunshine. Make me feel all warm inside looking back at these!
That tender touch melts my heart
A picnic and cuddle with big sister
I had competition!
I love this natural moment between mama and daughter. The little face poking in though… I could just squide his cheeks all day!
2016 was an epic year. I’ve created a video of my favourite images from the last 12 months, grab a cuppa and have a watch of the video or if you’d prefer you can scroll through them at your own pace below. Leave a comment below or share this page with your friends

TWENTY SIXTEEN in RETROSPECT
Kicking off the year with a family session in Dulwich, no room is left out when it comes to shooting in your home. As the kitchen is the central hub to most homes it’s only right we take some shots in there too.

Maternity session in February
Freja turned 1 on the day of her second portrait session with me. This birthday photo session started off outdoors but it was freezing so we took shelter in The Maritime Museum. I got down on the floor with her and grabbed this shot as she flew over to me on her hands and knees.
Greenwich in March
When you tun up to a photo session and both parents are musicians, I couldn’t leave without hearing a tune…
We took a stroll soon after the spontaneous family gig and this happened. I love the movement and textures in this shot
Limehouse family photo session back in March
Easily, one of my all time favourite shots, not just from the past year. The intimate connection here only happens when everyone lets go, forgets why they’re there and just embraces the moment. The squishy baby face, the protective arm, the tender kiss, the doting look. I can’t ask for anything more in a family photo.
Ealing family portrait taken in April
Perfect action shot.

My clients embrace non-traditional family portraits and I thank them for that, from the bottom of my heart

Sometimes photos work best
Back in 2013 I visited Siu and Kevin at their apartment near Canary Wharf, their little boy Chi Wing was nearly 10 month old at the time. I remember them well as it was my absolute favourite session at the time, I loved the images that we got from that first session so much! Chi Wing was a very happy smiley baby and nearly 4 years later he has not changed, still the happy smiley little guy that I remember. The only difference is he is now a big brother, and what a great one he is. Hau-Yee is a few months older than her brother was on his first shoot, but just as adorable. Again, I am in LOVE with the photos from this session, so much soul, love and happiness in each of them.
Carshalton, Surrey Family Photographer
Oh, another thing that has changed is this London family has moved to the country. Well, Carshalton in Surrey can seem like the country to us townies!! Even so it was really easy to get there on a direct train from Waterloo. You guys in the South West are SPOILT with South Western Trains by the way, puts Southern and South Eastern to shame!
Anyway, on to the session, which happened back in October, yes, I’ve got a backlog of sessions to blog! I got a fabulous welcome to their new home, although I felt slightly inadequate when Chi Wing pulled out his super snazzy camera. He gave me a taste of my own medicine that’s for sure. I want a Poccy Camera. Alas, I had to make do with my trusty Nikon for the next two hours. I think you’ll agree that despite this we got some fabulous shots. Touching moments between all the family, I especially love the children trying on their Mums necklace. Super cute!
I’d love to hear from you if you’d like some family shots in a similar style to this, so get in touch soon
Officially, my most photographed family! This was the 6th shoot with them.
I love seeing this lot each year, the girls are growing into stunning, charismatic little ladies with personalities to match. As you would expect for sisters close in age… they are completely different!!
Greenwich Family Photographer
Meeting at our usual spot in Charlton Park, Greenwich and at out usual time of year, Autumn. It’s amazing to look back on each shoot and see how they’ve grown. Having a regular family photo session is an investment that you can only fully appreciate years down the line. These family photos are even more special because Granny lives in New Zealand and only gets to see her granddaughters once or twice a year.
And this year…
If you’d like to book your family photo session please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
