The Guild of Photographers held their annual awards dinner do last Friday and it was the event of the year in the photography arena. Myself and some of my close photographer friends travelled up for the night and bot did we make the most of it! Sore feet from dancing, catching up with other photographer friends that we don’t get to see very often and enjoying the party atmosphere at the very grand Crewe Hall in Cheshire.

I had great cause to celebrate as it turns out that one of my images came runner-up in the members choice Image of the Year award!! Out of a total of 10,000 images entered throughout the year, mine won gold back in May and out of all the gold images it was voted overall runner-up in all genres. I am over the moon to say the least!

Not only that but I was awarded membership to the Photographers Bar. Only 26 people in the UK and internationally won a place in the Bar and I was one of them.
Here is what the Guild has to say about that…

“Becoming a member of the Photographer’s Bar is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild over the course of a year, and attained a score equating to an award for each entry made, thereby evidencing an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency – a distinction that is very difficult to achieve!!”

It’s fair to say that 2013 has been an amazing year for me. I am so lucky to do a job that I love and that brings so many rewards.
