It’s a sunny Saturday morning and I’m waiting outside Starbucks in Greenwich for my bride and groom to arrive. We’ve planned to meet at 7.30am for some portraits around their home town. The ceremony is due to start at 9.30 so that gives us a good hour and a half before we need to set off for their Greenwich Town hall wedding, which is one of my favourite civil service venues in London.

Anyway, back to this lovely sunny Saturday morning, I arrived about 10 minutes early and having already had my morning coffee(s!) I didn’t go into Starbucks instead I had a little wonder around the Cutty Sark, because I actually shooting a wedding there next month. I remember thinking how beautiful the morning was, I even made a couple of Instagram stories.

So imagine my surprise when I see coming around the corner, a couple of VERY well dressed gorgeous people bobbing along on a bike and heading directly for me… a guy in a suit, it’s Saturday so unlikely he’s headed to work and beautiful girl on the back in an amazing two piece ensemble with bouquet of flowers. Without a doubt these two were getting married today. Great, because I had already started photographing them!! They seemed quite happy to see me and my laughter seemed to be contagious as they were laughing hard too.

Me (shouting after them while shooting and hoping I don’t fall over): “are you Janice and Andrew?!!!” .
Them: “yes, are you Andrea?”
Me: “YES, keep cycling this is bloody amazing!!

Turns out this is how the usually travel. Janice catches a ride on the back of Andrew’s bike to the station everyday usually so why should today be any different? After locking up their bike, we had a wander around for some more portraits. Some of my favourite ever.
