If you’re interested in booking a London family photography session, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve photographed hundreds of families over the past 15 years across London and surrounding areas, so you’re in safe hands.

I will guide you through the session, allowing space for it to evolve organically, so your family can relax and enjoy the experience.

My Approach to Family Photography

I want to help you capture this version of your family- before it becomes a memory

Family life moves in phases, each one precious and brief. The age they are right now, the interests, the in-jokes, the particular dynamic between siblings, this version of your family is already quietly changing.

My approach is rooted in observation and gentle direction. I’m drawn to what happens between the posed moments – the laughter mid-sentence, the way your youngest looks at their big brother, the chaos and the tenderness that make up an ordinary afternoon. Natural, editorial images that feel genuinely like you.

I’ve photographed hundreds of London families since 2011, and the sessions I’m proudest of are always the ones where people forgot I was there. That’s what I’m working towards every single time.

The simple fact is, you won’t regret it.

Natural, editorial style family photographer based in Greenwich, South East London

My abiding memories of growing up were leafing through stacks of old family photo albums, memories and personalities frozen in time.

It gave me a nice feeling and that’s something I haven’t lost. I want other people to experience it when they look at their photos. I want to capture your story, with you in it! So you, your children and your relatives can share in it too.

Since starting my business back in 2011, I’ve captured a whole range of important family milestones in a variety of locations. Some families prefer relaxed sessions at home, while others want to explore the city together. Both approaches work beautifully and create natural, meaningful images.

Secure Your Date

So you’ve had a look around and you know I’m the photographer for you. You’ve got a good feel for how I work and are excited to start planning.

You’ve seen my recent photography sessions, have read my what to expect articles want your own family photo shoot. Next step is to familiarise yourself with the pricing structure it’s super easy, there’s a session fee (this secures your date) and then there’s the image collection fee.

Planning your session

Once we found a date that works, I’ll open your online client portal where you’ll complete your booking form, this helps me to get to know you and your family a bit better and understand what you want most from the shoot.  

This is the perfect time to think about having the shoot at home or outdoors, you can always combine both!

Choosing what to wear is important to the overall look and feel of your images, if you need help with this I’ve got you, I can send some guidance.

03.

On the day

Every family is different. So every session is unique, I’m led by the kids and their needs throughout. When there’s a relaxed atmosphere, you and your kids will shine. Try not to have too many preconceived ideas about how your session will evolve or how your kids will react.

If you make the focus of your time connecting, exploring and chatting with your loved ones, sometimes ignoring the fact I’m there, we’ll have an incredible outcome. The magic happens when we let go. 

I’ll guide you when needed, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, just so we have the best light and flattering angles.

Plan for up two hours with me, we can break for snacks and chats. I’m yet to hear a client say it hasn’t flown by!

After your session

I will hand edit the very best images from your online gallery. There will be at least 60 in total but often there is more. Any unflattering or less than perfect images will not make the cut.

Within 2-4 weeks you’ll receive a link to your gallery. You can view a beautiful slideshow of the highlights and then all the edited images from your session.

This is when you decide which collection you’d like to purchase, if you haven’t already. Once you’ve chosen the entire shop will open and you can purchase add ons such as prints, albums and frames.

Session Fee – £350

Every booking begins with a £350 session fee, which secures your date and covers our time together, approximately 90 minutes of photography, plus the full edit of your gallery. You then choose the collection below that suits your family.

Your questions answered

While I love a beautiful park, I’m often drawn to London’s urban character – the architecture, quiet streets and interesting textures that give each neighbourhood its own feel. Areas such as Greenwich, Dulwich, Marylebone, St John’s Wood and Chelsea offer wonderful backdrops feel both relaxed and distinctly London.

Absolutely. Home is often my favourite backdrop of all. It’s where the real everyday moments happen – breakfast in pyjamas, building dens, cuddles on the sofa. Years from now, photographs taken in your own home often become the most meaningful because they take you straight back to this chapter of family life.

Family sessions last approximately 90 minutes to two hours, giving us enough time to warm up, let the children settle, and move between locations without feeling rushed.

No complicated styling needed. Soft, neutral or earthy tones work beautifully.

Avoid large logos or harsh contrasting colours. Comfort matters more than perfection. Coordination is better than matching.

After your session I’ll hand-edit the very best images from the day. You’ll receive a minimum of 60 fully edited photographs to choose from, though most galleries contain more. Your gallery will be ready within two to four weeks of your session, delivered via a private online link where you can view a slideshow and download your images.

Great question! I find it’s useful for you to talk to them and let them know exactly what is going to happen. Explain how it’s going to be so much fun (it is!), talk them through step by step what to expect so they’re mentally prepared.

My style is definitely more observational as opposed to posed so if you have favourite games that you like to play or you know what really get your children laughing then by all means employ every technique on the day! Whatever you do, don’t discipline them for not smiling or cooperating. Leave it to me to make it lots of fun on the day!

Light cloud, mist, even light rain can be beautifully atmospheric. If
conditions are genuinely unworkable, we simply reschedule. No one is forced into a miserable experience!

That’s completely normal. My sessions are relaxed and child-led, so children can play, explore and be themselves. Often the photos parents love most come from those in-between, slightly chaotic moments.

Absolutely. Homes do not need to look like Pinterest.

Personal spaces often create the most meaningful images because they reflect your real environment and relationships.
