LET’S CAPTURE THE VERY BEGINNING.

the shortest chapter of all.

THE ONE MOST WORTH CAPTURING

If you’re expecting, or have just welcomed your baby home, you’ve come to the right place. Established since 2011, as a London maternity and newborn photographer I’ve photographed hundreds of women and new families through pregnancy, birth and those precious early weeks. You’re in safe hands.

I’ll guide you gently through every step, giving the session space to unfold at its own pace – whether that means stopping for a feed, a settle, or simply a quiet moment together. Your only job is to be present. The rest is mine.

Finding a photographer you feel truly comfortable with matters more at this stage than any other. If my work feels right for you, I’d love to hear from you.

MY approach to maternity and newborn photography

I want to help you hold onto the very beginning

As a mum to two (now teenage!) boys, I can’t explain how much I value the photographs I have from those early weeks. It feels as though I blinked and they are now towering over me. Carrying them to bed happened one last time and I didn’t even know it.

Whether you’re expecting or have just brought your baby home, these are the days that deserve to be documented. The curve of a bump, the weight of a newborn in your arms, the pure exhaustion and pure joy of those first days – these things fade faster than you expect. What stays are the photographs.

My approach is gentle and unhurried. I give space for the session to unfold naturally – for feeding, for settling, for the quiet in-between moments that are often the most beautiful. You don’t need to do anything except be present. The rest is my job.

For your children and their children, these images will piece together the earliest days of their lives.

Maternity & Newborn Session

Andrea captured our maternity and newborn sessions beautifully, creating natural, genuine images full of real family moments, even managing to make me love photos of myself for the first time.

She was incredible with our three-year-old, making the whole experience relaxed and fun. Photos we’ll treasure forever.

Newborn Session

The session with Andrea felt so comfortable and it showed when we received the photos. She not only captured the photos we wanted, but the warmth of our family – the hugs and kisses with our little ones

We’ve never had so many compliments on our photos, Andrea captured exactly what we wanted: natural, documentary-style images that reflect this new chapter of our lives.

Even in the rain, she made it fun and created something really special.

I’M ANDREA

The days are long but the years are short.

As a mum to two (teenage!) boys I can’t explain how true this is. It feels as though I’ve blinked and they are now towering over me.

Carrying them to bed happened one last time and I didn’t even know it. Every day moments that we’re prone to taking for granted, I want to make sure you don’t regret documenting what makes your relationships special.

Sometimes the human brain needs a little nudge and once it’s had it in the form of old family photos, a whole wealth of feelings and emotions come flooding back for you.

For your kids and their kids it will be a way to piece together beautiful, emotional and sometime hilarious parts of their childhood.

HOW IT WORKS

01.

Secure Your Date

So you’ve had a look around and you know I’m the photographer for you. You’ve got a good feel for how I work and are excited to start planning.

You’ve seen my maternity and newborn photography articles and had a look at my recent sessions, now you’ve decided you want your very own. In my opinion the best time to have your maternity shoot is between 24 and 34 weeks. Newborn sessions are good from as soon as you feel ready.

The next step is to familiarise yourself with the pricing structure (below) it’s super easy, there’s a session fee (this secures your date) and then there’s the image collection fee. This can be chosen upfront or after your session. If you chose upfront you get the session free, how about that!

Use the contact form to get in touch with any questions and to find out my available dates.

02.

Planning your session

Once we found a date that works, I’ll open your online client portal where you’ll complete your booking form, this helps me to get to know you and your family a bit better and understand what direction you want to take the shoot in.

A lot of my clients opt to combine at-home photography sessions and outdoor sessions. Though if you prefer one over the other thats all good too!

It’s a great idea to think of ways we can make the session special to you, with maternity sessions it might be a session at home where you can feel relaxed getting those beautiful bump shots or you may want to get out and about have more movement in your images, a walk around town or your favourite park.

Have no idea where to start? Don’t worry I can suggest some great locations or you can get inspired by other sessions in my recent work section

On the day

Every session is unique, and there’s no doubt that when there’s a relaxed atmosphere, you will shine. Try not to have too many preconceived ideas about how your session will evolve or how your baby will react.

Holding, comforting and connecting with your baby is all you need to bring to the table, sometimes ignoring the fact I’m there will have an incredible outcome. The magic happens when you let go.

I will do some directing, sometimes a little sometimes a lot, just so we have the best light and flattering angles.
Choosing what to wear is important to the overall look and feel of your images, if you need help with this I’ve got you, in the form of some guidance I’ll send out.

Plan for two hours with me, we can break for feeding and chats. I’m yet to hear a client say it hasn’t flown by!

04.

After your session

I will hand edit the very best images from your gallery. There will be at least 60 in total but often there is more. Any unflattering or less than perfect images will not make the cut.

Within 2-4 weeks you’ll receive a link to your gallery. You can view a beautiful slideshow of the highlights and then all the edited images from your session.

This is when you decide which collection you’d like to purchase, if you haven’t already. Once you’ve chosen the entire shop will open and you can purchase add ons such as prints, albums and frames.

FAQ

YOUR Questions ANSWERED

Most maternity sessions take place between 28–34 weeks. At this stage, your bump is beautifully visible while you’re usually still comfortable enough to enjoy the experience.

That said, there’s no rigid rule, energy and comfort matter more than an exact week.

Completely normal. Nearly everyone feels different in their body during pregnancy. Sessions are designed to be flattering, relaxed, and gentle.

You’re not expected to “perform pregnancy” the focus is on connection, light, and natural moments rather than forced poses.

Soft, comfortable clothing that makes you feel good is perfect. Neutral tones, simple textures, and flowing fabrics photograph beautifully.

Avoid anything you constantly adjust or feel restricted in. This is about ease and confidence, not dramatic styling unless you genuinely want that.

Ideally within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are sleepier and more curled up. However, beautiful images are absolutely possible beyond this window.

If life feels unpredictable (which it often does), we simply work around your baby rather than chasing a perfect date.

This is incredibly common and never a problem. Newborn sessions move at your baby’s pace with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks.

There is no expectation of a perfectly sleepy baby, calm, awake, cuddly moments are often just as lovely.

Not at all. No elaborate setup or props required. Natural light and a few simple, uncluttered spaces are all we need.

The emphasis is on your baby, your connection, and your environment, not styled accessories or complicated preparation.
