Planning a Celebration in RAC Pall Mall

Lauren got in touch with me as she was looking for a photographer to capture a family gathering. The gathering was a celebration of their baby girl to include their London based family and friends. Held in one of the Royal Automobile Club’s elegant private dining rooms on Pall Mall, this intimate family celebration brought loved ones together to welcome the newest member of the family

Why have a photographer?

A welcome lunch passes by in a blur of hugs, introductions and conversations. Having someone quietly document those moments means everyone can stay present instead of reaching for their phones. Additionally, this was a perfect opportunity to get some updated family photos for Lauren, her husband and children. We got some beautiful photos, including formal portraits and candid shots.

Yes. I photograph intimate family celebrations, welcome parties, birthdays and milestone gatherings at venues across London, including members’ clubs and private dining rooms. My approach is relaxed and documentary-led, capturing the atmosphere as it unfolds.

Most celebration lunches are covered in 1–3 hours. This is usually enough time to capture guests arriving, natural moments during the event, speeches, group photographs and family portraits before everyone heads home.

Absolutely. The majority of the gallery is made up of natural, unposed moments, but I’m always happy to organise a few relaxed family portraits while everyone is together. They often become some of the most treasured photographs from the day.

I photograph baby welcome parties, naming celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, retirement lunches, family reunions and other milestone gatherings. Any occasion that brings loved ones together is worth documenting.

There’s no need to match exactly. Soft, timeless colours and outfits you feel comfortable in photograph beautifully, especially in elegant venues like the RAC Pall Mall. The aim is for everyone to feel like themselves.
