Sarah Capon. A brilliant mother, wife, and photographer (amongst lots of other things!) is a prime example of why I do what I do. She is so important to her boys but is rarely in any pictures with them all. It’s so easy to put things off and make excuses as to why a family portrait shouldn’t be booked. Especially when you’re busy taking other peoples family portrait and running a home at the same time. Life gets in the way. So, Sarah’s *Mum* got in touch with me. She bought a gift voucher for her daughter, knowing she couldn’t put it off any longer! I’m so glad she did this for Sarah. I was apprehensive of course, another professional photographer in front of my lens. Seeing how I’m not at all a perfectionist for the technical stuff… but also seeing that while I love perfect portraits I’m also an avid lover of the small moments; the looks, the laughs and the emotions.
Sarah is very fond of Greenwich Park so it was the obvious place to start the session. A few shots at the top of the park to get them into the swing of things and more importantly, so they could practice laughing at my terrible jokes. They did very well on that front, I must say. We ended up down by the Trafalgar, not accidentally mind you, this is where they got married 14 years ago! I know, I know, they don’t look old enough.
Their two boys, so used to having their photos taken, were very cool about me following them around an telling them to move closer to their folks. In fact, it seems that these guys really are a very close, tight knit family. They didn’t even look too embarrassed when I told them all to ‘dab’. (If you don’t know what this is then you don’t have kids aged between 8-16)
Anyway, here are my favourites photo from he session. I hope you enjoy them and I hope that they have given you some encouragement to get you family photo session booked. If so, I’d love to hear from you.
