Blackheath Maternity Photographer
Blackheath is one of my favourite parts of London to photograph in. The light, the green space, the gentle pace of it… it lends itself to the kind of relaxed, lifestyle-meets-editorial maternity sessions I love to shoot.
Simple, unhurried photographs of precious moments, before everything changes.
We started indoors. Jade’s bedroom had that soft, moody afternoon light pouring in through the window, and we made the most of it. The shots from this part of the session have a quiet richness to them, almost fine art in feel, which isn’t my usual lifestyle look but I adore them all the same.
Then we headed out to Greenwich Park, just around the corner. The sky was doing that very London thing of switching between cloud and sun every few minutes, which actually gave us a lovely variety of light to work with. Some softer overcast frames, some warmer sunlit ones.
Jade was a complete natural. Calm, relaxed, up for a laugh. You can see it in the images, that ease between us. That’s one of the things I love about photographing people I know, but it’s also what I aim for with every client… finding the version of someone that feels most like themselves, then quietly capturing it.

Booking a maternity session in London
If you’re pregnant and thinking about photographs, the sweet spot is usually between 30 and 36 weeks. Late enough that the bump is properly showing, early enough that you’re still comfortable moving around.
I shoot maternity sessions across London, often in clients’ homes and a nearby park or favourite spot, so the photographs feel rooted in your real life rather than staged in a studio.
