Photos at home and outdoors

Paul and Laura invited me to their home in Hither Green, for some family photos. As soon as I arrived I had the most wonderful welcome from their little girl. She was fascinated with my camera and it soon became apparent why! She was a photographer herself, with some gear to rival my own she proceeded to take some wonderful shots of myself. Giving me a taste of my own medicine, I realised it’s quite fun on the other side of the camera! Alas, that’s not what I was there for. So I convinced her to allow me to look after her camera whilst i used my own inferior one to photograph her and her family. She kindly obliged, phew!

So after a few photos at home, we packed up and made our way to Greenwich Park. These guys choose the only two weeks of the year that the blossom trees in Greenwich Park are own bloom. It’s my favourite time of year. Yes you have to work around all the tourists and other photographers there but it’s worth it. I think you’ll agree when you see the photos too.

If you’d like to book a session with me just get in touch, I’d love to hear from you. What have you lost to loose?

Pre-wedding shoot Greenwich

Outdoor Family Portraiture

Greenwich is my home borough, and it has been pretty much since I moved over here from Ireland 18 years ago! You’d think I’d be used to it by now but no, every time I walk through this town, the park and the grounds of the Old Royal Naval college (where I attended university!) I still have to pinch myself. So much history and so much beauty in such a small area.

So when clients get in touch and say they want a shoot here I am delighted! I’m even more delighted when they ask me to shoot their wedding. That’s what Martin and Emily did, they got in touch to enquire about my wedding availability and booked a family session at the same time. They’ll be getting married in St Alfedges Church and celebrating in the Cutty Sark afterwards, I cannot wait to capture their day.

For their family session we we met in town and had a wander. There are so many lovely photo opportunities in Greenwich. Although none  of them as beautiful the family I’m shooting. For me it’s all about them, I could be hooting anywhere, although as long I can create a space where the family are comfortable, relaxed and enjoying themselves, I’m happy! This way we get the photos that you can see throughout my website. Family photos full of joy, laughter, and emotional connections. The shots below are no different. I hope you enjoy them. If you like what you see and would like me top photograph your family this summer then please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you. Oh and if you’re getting married or know someone that’s getting married to check out my wedding website .

Practicing what I preach...

So here I am. Taking my own advice. Practicing what I preach. Getting in the photos. Getting my family in the photos. That was no mean feat I’ll have you know. It was a last minute kind of thing, I messaged them all on Facebook a few days before, roped in a friend to take the shots, a ladder for him to stand on precariously whilst most of our children stood behind causing havoc. Well not all our children, my mums children are here… in the photos with her.   My Mother’s Day gift to her. Which I’ll be honest felt a little like a chore for all of us in the lead up to it. Naturally we all woke up not feeling like getting in front of the camera. I felt like I’d put on two stone over night, my body ached from the cold that was about to kick in that evening. This is the reality folks. It’s not always, in fact, it’s rarely plain sailing before a shoot. However, having said that, once we start and get into the swing of things it’s actually pretty fun. As you can tell from the photos below, we laughed a lot! No, they’re not perfect. Though neither are we so that’s fine.

This is a big part of my WHY, which you can read about by clicking this link.

My Mother’s Day gift cards are £159, find out more here
