Alsace Wedding Photographer
When Lynn got in touch with me to check if I’d be interested in shooting her and Matt’s wedding, I didn’t need asking twice! Working With Laure from Féelicité Lynn and Matt created a wonderful weekend for their guests. Starting off with a welcome dinner and drinks in A l’Ancienne Douane ,a beautiful restaurant on the river where guests caught up and kicked off the weekend.
Strasbourg is such a beautiful city, it where Matt’s Mum is from and as they had a civil ceremony in Hong Kong where Lynn’s parents are from it seems appropriate to choose this city to have their church wedding. It’s fairly unusual to have a wedding in the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg and even more so to have use of the Crypt, which dates back to 1176. Which is incredible! Not surprisingly it’s the biggest tourist attraction in the city. Once the ceremony was over we headed outside and the sun was shining so hard for these guys. There was even a busker playing the violin which added to the romantic atmosphere, it was perfect. So after few shots while we waited for the vintage Citroen car to arrive, which was taking them back to Les Haras Brasserie where 3 Michelin star chef Marc Haeberlin not only designed their menu but actually prepared and served it too. The food was, as expected, amazing! After dinner I took the newly weds out for some portraits, we didn’t have to go far, it really doesn’t matter about the location or background with these things… it’s all to do with the love and connection. As you can tell, these two had enough of that to go around for everyone!
Now that all that was out of the way it was time to get the party started, and get the party started they did! It’s no secret that as a wedding photographer, the party is one of my favourite parts of the day. Everyone let’s their hair down to get down! As you’ll see this lot of French, English, Irish, Chinese and many other nationalities did not let the side down.
Thanks do much to Lynn and Matt and all their family and friends for making this one of my favourite weddings ever. It was absolute pleasure and here are my favourite images from the main day.
