When Lynn got in touch with me to check if I’d be interested in shooting her and Matt’s wedding, I didn’t need asking twice! Working With Laure from Féelicité Lynn and Matt created a wonderful weekend for their guests. Starting off with a welcome dinner and drinks in A l’Ancienne Douane  ,a beautiful restaurant on the river where guests caught up and kicked off the weekend.

Strasbourg is such a beautiful city, it where Matt’s Mum is from and as they had a civil ceremony in Hong Kong where Lynn’s parents are from it seems appropriate to choose this city to have their church wedding. It’s fairly unusual to have a wedding in the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg and even more so to have use of the Crypt, which dates back to 1176. Which is incredible! Not surprisingly it’s the biggest tourist attraction in the city. Once the ceremony was over we headed outside and the sun was shining so hard for these guys. There was even a busker playing the violin which added to the romantic atmosphere, it was perfect. So after few shots while we waited for the vintage Citroen car to arrive, which was taking them back to Les Haras Brasserie where 3 Michelin star chef Marc Haeberlin  not only designed their menu but actually prepared and served it too. The food was, as expected, amazing! After dinner I took the newly weds out for some portraits, we didn’t have to go far, it really doesn’t matter about the location or background with these things… it’s all to do with the love and connection. As you can tell, these two had enough of that to go around for everyone!

Now that all that was out of the way it was time to get the party started, and get the party started they did! It’s no secret that as a wedding photographer, the party is one of my favourite parts of the day. Everyone let’s their hair down to get down! As you’ll see this lot of French, English, Irish, Chinese and many other nationalities did not let the side down.

Thanks do much to Lynn and Matt and all their family and friends for making this one of my favourite weddings ever. It was absolute pleasure and here are my favourite images from the main day.

!Stop press! Professional photographer in their own family photos…

Sarah Capon. A brilliant mother, wife, and photographer (amongst lots of other things!) is a prime example of why I do what I do. She is so important to her boys but is rarely in any pictures with them all. It’s so easy to put things off and make excuses as to why a family portrait shouldn’t be booked.

Family portrait session in Shepherd’s Bush, West London

I travelled to Sheperd’s Bush to meet them all and get some lovely portraits before Brittany flew back. Some of my favourite photos of year came rom this short shoot, I love this first one. Conrad’s cheeky expression is EVERYTHING! Then the one of Brenna laughing makes me smile every time I see it.

Photo albums and family portraits on the wall are some of the most important objects to us, and yet lots of us take them for granted. We often don’t realise the importance of family photographs until it is too late. A lot of us go looking for family photos when we...

This lovely family session happened back in October! Where is the time going?

Colin booked this session with me as he and his family were travelling to London. He came from Chicago, his parents came from Cleveland and his sister and her family travelled from Melbourne. It was first time Grandma met her Aussie born grand-daughter and the first time the cousins met too.
